Phantom Trench: Indian Ocean Hauntings III

The Indian Ocean Hauntings — Voyage III Location: Central Indian Ocean — Grid 6-6 Expedition center: approximately 27° S, 82° E Theme: Haunted ship graveyard • spectral marine life • transporter anomalies • possession • direct abyssal exploration Following Hallowed Veins and The Drowned Harvest, the Submariner continues south along the glowing orange fractures beneath the Indian Ocean. The enormous pumpkin colonies begin thinning out, but the veins themselves grow wider, hotter and brighter. Then they reach the edge. Sonar reveals an immense trench dropping almost vertically beneath the expedition. Stranger still, the sonar shows hundreds of objects suspended at different depths inside it. They're ships. Wooden sailing vessels. Steamships. Military vessels. Cargo ships. Submarines. Aircraft. Even wrecks that appear far too intact for their age. Some are embedded vertically in the trench walls. Others hang upside down. Several seem to be floating hundreds of meters above the bottom. And one ancient galleon is apparently sailing through the water. Its sails are full. Its lanterns are burning. Its crew are standing on deck. The crew names the abyss: THE PHANTOM TRENCH.
