Submariner — Sea Life

The Marrowglass Archivist is a pale cephalopod that stores mineral flashes inside translucent bone-like plates along its mantle. It studies submarines with patient lantern eyes, copying sonar bursts back in smaller, cleaner pulses. Science crews prize the plates because they hold charge like memory, but nobody enjoys how the plates flicker in the pattern of old distress calls.
